LPGA International - Legends Course

Going to LPGA International is a great way to spend a weekend afternoon.  With a $20.00 rate after 2:00 p.m., it has to be the best bang for your buck in golfing in Daytona Beach.  The course is in great shape, we played the tighter and tougher Legends course.  I must say that, after two holes today, I was 1 under par!  Didn't stay that way long, but had a great time.  The staff is courteous, helpful and the condition of the facility is immaculate.  Can't go wrong playing golf here.  Highly recommended!

Turnbull Bay Golf Club

Made a short trip to Turnbull Bay Golf Club, New Smyrna Beach this past weekend.  It just 10 miles south of "The World's Most Famous Beach". My friend and I were able to get an early tee time and got paired with another twosome.  And with their current Winter Rates of $25.00 for 18 holes, you can't beat it.  The course is in pretty good shape for this time of year.  The greens are OK, with some pretty challenging pin locations. At least this past weekend.
Let's just say that I have a great "cost per stroke" for my round.  The course is between Spruce Creek Preserve and Turnbull Bay, making it a beautiful Florida course.  It's a par 72, 6,500 yard course with water almost every hole. Come on out and play anytime, the staff is friendly and anxious to help you around.

Pelican Bay Country Club - North Course

This is a wonderful hidden gem in Daytona Beach.  The North Course at Pelican Bay is a challenging layout with water on almost every hole.  No wait, I take that back…. There is water on “every” hole.  The layout extends from5,319 yards from the Green tees to a lengthy 6,836 foot killer from the Championship tees.  Today, my friend TR and I, played from the White tees,  that is still 6,050 yards.  You can utilize the $5 coupon from their website to save you some money.  It is a fun course to play, just make sure to control your drives.

Daytona Beach Country Club South Course

This past weekend, I played Daytona Beach Golf Club’s South Course with my friend Tim. We had a great time! Had an early tee time 7:45 a.m. and finished just before that cold front moved in. The course is in fantastic shape for this time of year. The people at the course have put in a lot of work to keep their two courses in very good shape. The South Course is the easier of the two, but does have several challenging holes. The toughest for me, is the 12th hole. A 175 yard par three, over a pond, just in front of the green. I managed a bogey and didn’t lose a ball, so I’m happy. I highly recommend Daytona Beach Golf Club, it is a municipal course that is maintained in an immaculate condition. Hats off to the staff!
